By using the member, review and comments system on this website you explicitly agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions, which SSL may change at any time. Please review these terms and conditions periodically for changes. If you do not agree with these terms and conditions then you are not authorized to use the member, review and comments system on this website and should curtail your membership as instructed at the bottom of your member profile.

 

1.0 Ownership and copyright

The SSL website is specifically www.steadysafaris.com, although the term "website" used below also refers to any other website owned and operated by the same company.

All of the content of our website is copyrighted. Permission must be obtained from us in writing from our Kampala office if you wish to use any of our content for any other purpose than supporting yourself on a trip booked with us.

 

Whilst the copyright for all content provided by members, whether written, photographic or otherwise remains with the user, by submitting this information to SSL the user is deemed to be granting unlimited usage rights for that material to SSL and its appointed agents and partners from the time of submittal onwards.

 

2.0 Your obligations

you are wholly responsible for the content that you add to our website.

You represent and warrant that the content that you provide will be consistent with these terms and conditions and that it will not infringe or violate the rights of any other party or breach any contract or legal duty to any other parties or violate any applicable law.

You expressly agree to indemnify SSL against any liability to any person arising out of the website content that you provide.

 

You agree to only provide content that is relevant to the appropriate section to which it is being submitted and that the content should be, in the opinion of SSL, intended to be helpful to other users and/or property owners.

 

You agree not to mention the names or contact details of other companies or individuals involved in making travel arrangements other than SSL, or in any way try to solicit business for any commercial organization through use of the SSL website, other than for SSL itself.

You agree that you will not make any submittal under any kind of assumed or incorrectly described member details. For example if you are a lodge owner you must not make a submission as a lodge guest.

 

Member profiles must contain correct member names, pseudonyms are not permitted. Your real name will never be displayed on the website or made available to other parties unless you choose a user name that contains your real name. More on this in our privacy policy below.

Members are restricted to one membership profile per person, multiple membership will be considered a serious breach of these terms and conditions.

 

Any members who work within the travel industry in any capacity or who have any vested interest in the ownership or performance of individual areas or properties listed within the site must explicitly declare these interests in their member profile.

 

If a member has been excluded then that person may not rejoin either under the same name or under another name.

 

You are only permitted to submit content to the website for which you are the legal copyright holder. If you submit material of which you are not the copyright owner then you indemnify SSL against any subsequent claim arising from the real copyright holder or their agents. You are similarly required to be in possession of any release permissions that may be required from persons or places featured in the images. If you submit material of which you do not hold sufficient release permissions then you indemnify SSL against any subsequent claim arising from the infringed parties or their agents. Please note that including written notes in a submission that you are not the copyright holder or release permission holder of all or part of that submission does not waive these responsibilities as the automated parts of our system may not pick this up. You warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and possess the legal authority to enter into this agreement and to use this website in accordance with all terms and conditions herein.

 

SSL staff are exempted from all of the clauses in this section.

 

2.1 Use of member sections of the SSL website by travel industry professionals

This website is designed for use by people putting together their own travel plans, usually but not necessarily with a view to booking with SSL.

This website is not intended for use by travel industry professionals or anyone else involved in putting together trips to Africa for other people for commercial gain (to whom we will refer simply as 'travel industry professionals').

 

If you are a travel industry professional then you are not permitted to join as a member and enjoy the advantages of being a member. This is made clear to you during the registration process. If you, or anyone acting on your recommendation or coercion, fraudulently continue to become a member despite being made aware of this, then there may be severe consequences.

If at any time we discover that you, as a travel industry professional, have been using our website for your own commercial purposes, to look up availability and prices or to take advantage of any other sections which are limited to members only, then we reserve the right to take legal action against you in order to seek recompense. The offender will be personally liable to pay SSL the whole of the gross profit (a minimum 20% of the total sale price) gained on any trips to Africa sold subsequent to the date of the first offence, since it will be assumed that all subsequent sales have been gained at the expense of SSL and that they have been made wholly as a result of the information fraudulently obtained from our website.

 

3.0 Our rights to refuse or modify of your input

we reserve the right to choose to not display your input or to withdraw it from the website at any time. Usually we will inform you of such an event, but we are entitled to do so without the need to inform you.

 

We reserve the right to modify your input by means of removing or modifying part or parts of your submission for any reason. For example we may wish to remove one or more of your images if we deem them to be inappropriate or we may remove a competitor's name or an external link if we think it is potentially against our commercial interest. Usually we will inform you of such an event, but we are entitled to do so without the need to inform you.

SSL reserves the right to exclude any member at any time and for any reason.

 

4.0 Use of chat rooms, bulletin boards and other communications forums

our website does not presently contain any such facilities at present, but if and when it does the terms and conditions of usage will be inserted here.

 

5.0 Notice and Take-Down Policy for illegal content

if you object to any reviews or comments on our website, either because you feel them to be grossly incorrect, unfair or to infringe your copyright then you can request removal using the appropriate links on the website. Once we have receive a request from you we will endeavor to investigate and act within a reasonable time-scale, but you should be aware that this process can take anything from a few hours to a few months. We reserve the right to decline your removal request. The burden of responsibility for proving that an entry should be removed lies with the party requesting the removal.

6.0 Modifications to terms and conditions

SSL may change, add or delete these terms and conditions or any portion thereof from time to time in its sole discretion where it deems it necessary for legal, general regulatory and technical purposes or due to changes in the services provided or nature or layout of the website.

SSL may change, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the website services at any time, including availability of any feature, database or content. SSL may also impose limits on certain features and services or restrict your access to all or parts of the website or any other related websites without notice or liability.

 

The specific version of the terms and conditions under to which you signify your agreement will not be individually stored by SSL.

Your continued use of the website is taken as your agreement to these amended terms and conditions.

 

7.0 General

If any part of these terms and conditions is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law including, but not limited to, the warranty disclaimers and liability limitations set forth above, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the terms and conditions shall continue in effect.

SSL may, and you may not, assign, convey, subcontract or delegate rights, duties or obligations under these terms and conditions.

 

You agree that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and SSL as a result of these terms and conditions or use of this website.

The website is not updated periodically on a regular basis and consequently is not required to register as editorial product under any relevant law.

 

8.0 Legal Jurisdiction

Uganda Law will apply to any dispute, claim or other matter of any description which arises between SSL and any other parties.
